Before you are able to do anything with your laundry room you have to know what type of machines you are going to be bringing into it. It used to be that all washers and dryers looked the same no matter what house you were in. Nowadays though it seems that there are numerous styles and designs to choose from that can help make your laundry room look bigger.
Top Loading
The most common and the oldest design to use are the top loading machines. These range from medium to large sizes. The machines will open from the top making it easy and simple for you to just pour the detergent and clothes inside. These are able to handle medium to large loads and come with many features. Depending on what size you get you should be able to put them in larger or smaller sized laundry rooms.
Stacked
When you take one look at the stacked machines you will fall in love with them. They are front loading machines that stack on top of each other to save you space. They are perfect to use in small laundry rooms with little to no space. They sit flush against the wall and leave you plenty of space to add cabinets and storage bins.
Front Loading
The front loading machines are ergonomically designed to keep people from straining their backs and to use less water. They sit on pedestals that will elevate them. These can be as big or small as you need them to be. Because they open on the front it makes it easy for you to build and install rows of cabinets above them to use for storage.
Combination
Another great way to save space when you live in an apartment or don’t have much space in your laundry room is to purchase a combination washer and dryer. The two machines are connected together and give you plenty of room for storage hampers and bins. The only downside to them is that they cannot handle large loads.
