Pantry Laundry Room Design

Having a small home is not something that most people enjoy – but we have to learn how to make due with what we have. The hardest part is trying to find the right place to put our laundry room. When all else fails why not create a pantry laundry room design?

When designing this room you need to know what important functions you will need to make the space happen. Measure the size of the machines and consider how much space you will need to store your food. If you want a sink than you will need to make some space for that also.

When setting up the plumbing and vents you want to put them in a practical place. The dryer vent should be as short as possible so that the dryer can sit against the wall that faces the outside of the home. Make sure thought that the plumbing for the washer can sit right next to it.

Around the room you need to have the appropriate shelves and cabinets. Over the machines you should have a set of cabinets. This is where you can store your laundry detergent, dryer sheets, iron, and any other supplies you will need to clean your clothes. The food should be against the other side of the room.

It is best to use shelves running from the ceiling to the floor. Try to make them as wide as you can without taking up too much walking space. Because they are going to be long you will have enough shelves to store the majority of the food you would usually hold in your pantry.

When choosing what colors to use inside of the room we suggest you stick with something light and neutral. White, off white, and tan are the best colors to use. They help to give the appearance that the room is larger. If you have no windows for natural lighting than it will help to make the room brighter as the ceiling light is reflected off of it.
