Laundry Room Furniture
Like with any room in your home the laundry room needs the right furniture to make it useful and comfortable. You want your laundry room to have all of the essentials it needs to give you the ability to do everything related to cleaning and maintaining your clothes without having to drag them into other parts of the house.
Hampers
The hamper should be the first item on your list when picking out laundry room furniture. You can find these in a variety of styles and designs. If you want something cheap than you can purchase a mesh or cloth hamper. These usually cost around $10 and have handles to make it easy for you to carry around the house.
If you want something that is more pleasing to the eye than you can pick out the more expensive wicker hampers. These are light and dark brown and have a cloth lining inside to hold the clothes. They come in both small and large sizes and range between $30 to $50.
Perhaps one of my favorite types of hampers are the mobile laundry centers. These provide you with a single hamper to store your dirty clothes, shelves on the side to hold the clothes you fold, and a fold away ironing board. It has wheels that will make it easier to drop the folded clothes off to the rooms they belong in and when you are not using it you can conceal it with the hide away cover. This costs around $200 – but it is well worth the money.
Storage Cabinets
Storage is necessary in any laundry room. You need the right amount of space to hold your laundry detergent, fabric softener, iron, stain remover, pet food, and so much more. You can purchase space saver cabinets that will give you a small amount of cabinet space and an area underneath where you can store your hamper.
If you have a larger laundry room then you should spend more money and invest in the larger storage cabinets. These are long and wide depending on the size that you need. They allow you to store all of your supplies and one side can hold onto your ironing board or store the shirts, dresses, and pants that you need to iron. Any type of storage cabinet that you purchase will cost a few hundred dollars.
