Bathroom Laundry Room Designs
It is not uncommon for people with small homes or apartments to combine certain rooms together. This will help them to save space and to add certain features that did not originally come with the home. One such combination is adding a full or half bath into the laundry room.
Many people with apartments and townhouses have created bathroom laundry rooms in order to increase the value of their home and to provide them with the space that they need in order to do their laundry without having to waste money at a laundry mat. However, the only way to accomplish this is to have a design for the whole room that makes it easy to use and pleasing to look at.
When designing a room like this you really need to sit down and ask yourself what you want to do with it. The first question you need to ask is whether you want a half bathroom or a full bathroom. In a half bathroom the only thing that it will have is a toilet or a shower – not both.
Having a toilet in the laundry room is helpful because it is smaller and leaves more space for your washer and dryer. Having a shower in the laundry room can be ideal for many people who need to discard their dirty clothes in the exact space they need to be. The minute they get out of the shower they can turn the load on and walk away.
The only time that you want to use a full bathroom is when you have the advantage to build it in a large space. When this is the case why not try to put up a divider in the room that will help to separate the washer and dryer area from the bathroom area. You can do this by putting up curtains in front of each space or maybe placing the toilet in a small room.
If it is too difficult to corner off the bathroom than try to corner off the washer and dry machines instead. One great way to do this is to place them inside of a large closet. When you are not switching over or putting in a new load you can close the doors where they cannot be seen when someone is using the bathroom. In these larger closets you should have a shelf above the machines where you can store all of your laundry essentials.
People who have the smaller machines and do not have a large closet to use can instead place them inside of a large cabinet. These cabinets are below the countertops and allow you to close the doors when not being used. The countertop is the perfect place to store all the laundry essentials that you need or you can hide them away in a seperate cabinet. Unless the machines are on people will never know that they are there. In order to use this bathroom laundry room design you have to own the washing machine that opens in the front.
